The Origin Story

Montida Poultry was established in 1989 as a producer of day-old broiler chicks. In the first year of operation, the weekly day-old chick production was 5,000.

Over the years, the production capacity was increased in a constant manner to now reach 120,000 chicks weekly. These are hatched at the company-owned hatchery situated at Clementia.

The chicks produced are placed at contract grower's farms for fattening and the adult broilers are retrieved by the company for both sales as live broilers and as processed products from the company-owned modern abattoir in Petite Retraite.

Montida Poultry operates with over 50 independent contract farmers located across the island with varying capacities ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 day-old chicks per placement. The company has maintained a steady, consistent increase in production capacity since its inception to achieve its current volume.
